let's go to the movies

We figured everyone else was taking their two year olds to the movies, we'd give it a shot too (without any expectations). We were pleasantly surprised to say the least. We made it through the entire movie - quiet voice and all, without one single potty break and just one popcorn re-fill. Already looking forward to our next movie night! And Tangled is a super cute movie, can't wait for it to come out on dvd.

We've been getting together with The Lord's and The Gaylor's each year for a little holiday celebration, I think this was our 4th annual. I'd have to say the kiddos make it much more fun! present time!

she's all talk

We tell her why, she better not pout and better not cry. We warn her that she might get coal if she doesn't go to sleep, and if it would help, she can count sheep. We talk about his sleigh a few times a day, and her favorite christmas carol lyrics are "laughing all the way". She couldn't wait to see his famous red hat and fluffy white beard, of all the things, is a little weird. When asked what she is going to ask him for, she replies "a purple dinosaur". The time was finally here; to meet the big guy and his nine reindeer. Dressed in our best we headed South - Santa, Santa, Santa was all that could come out of her mouth. She approached his work shop happily wide eyed, but as soon as she saw him, she about cried. With Mom, Dad & baby by her side, she finally agreed to go for a ride. In his sleigh that is. Where the lollipops were kept, until Dad knocked them over and made a huge mess. She managed to tell him about the dinosaur, said "thank you, Merry Christmas" and headed for the door. Fifty bucks later and a 2010 family portrait with santa to show, come next year we'll remember that she's all talk, when it's time to go.

"My Christmas"

is what Hailey refers to anything Christmas related- decorations, the tree, lights, music... you name it... if it's Christmas, it's 'hers'. We've been listening to Joe's xmas albums for a week straight, and it's the first thing she asks me to turn on when we get in the car. The holidays are so much more fun with a 2.5 yr old! Hailey has more Christmas spirit than anyone I've ever met... I can't wait to see how stoked she is after Santa pays a visit. Koben, her cousin told us he is asking Santa for a dinosaur so now thats what Hailey wants... She also says she wants candy & cookies. I have a feeling after this year, Christmas is going to get a lot more expensive!
