Today was the true test, and little miss passed with flying colors! We had been preparing Hailey all weekend for what was to come today. I told her that I would be leaving her by herself today for 2 hours and while I was gone I was going to go get a pedicure (thanks Jane for the great idea) and I'd be back to get her. I'm happy to say there were no tears shed, by either of us. Well that's not entirely true. While I was soaking my feet in the foot bath the nice lady noticed that I needed to shave my legs and suggested I have them waxed. She sold me on the fact that I won't have to shave for 4-5 weeks! In the moment I thought it was a brilliant idea... but that soon changed while I was laying on the table a sweaty mess, eyes welling up with tears. All I could think is "this was supposed to be a relaxing 2 hrs... what.the.hell.was I thinking!?!"
Meanwhile, at school apparently Hailey was the teachers pet by volunteering things when Miss Carol asked and having a good ole' time. She also made a new friend named Lily... who likes to hug a lot. One of the Mom's mentioned that Hailey seemed uncomfortable with this and that Lily might have been squeezing kind of hard. Since Hailey loves a good hug, I knew something else was up. This weekend we talked a lot about what she did at school and one of them was the 3 rules Miss Carol has enforced; "no touching other people's bodies" is one of them. So my guess was that Hailey was probably thinking "umm, we are breaking the rules" and was a little nervous that she was going to get in trouble. When I asked Hailey if Lily was hugging her too hard she said no. I asked "were you worried because of the rules" without hesitation she said "Yes, NO touching!" I sure love my little rule follower.
