Hailey's actually been pretty healthy with just a few minor colds here & there, until now. She got the flu - her first one. She had a fever, diarrhea and sleepless nights but thankfully no vomiting! The Tylenol was helping drop her fever but it kept coming back so we finally called her pediatrician, who recommended that we go to the ER since they couldn't get us in until the next day. She wasn't very happy to be there, she hated the bed and loony tunes robe she had to wear.
But she started to warm up once the nurses started bringing in the juice, popsicles & books. Apparently we were giving her an under dose of acetaminophen. We went off Tylenol's website which said 1 tsp ages 2-3, every 4-6 hrs which is what the generic acetaminophen bottle says as well. But based on her weight she is supposed to get 1.5 tsp. He also suggested we add 1.5 tsp ibuprofen to the mix. This seemed to do the trick because she's back to her sassy self again, chasing Emma around with her toys & giggling.
The past few days we've done a whole lot of snuggling, popsicle eating, movie watching & staring at each other. I remember loving sick days as a kid.

p.s. I blame her sickness on the preschool we visited last Thursday. We did a trial run, so spent the full 2 hrs playing in the big germ cesspool. Hailey LOVED it and did really well. We'd planned on enrolling her this week until she got sick. If all goes as planned, she's going to start on Monday! So I'm sure this is the first of many sickness's we'll be seeing. We are very excited but sad at the same time, our baby is growing up! More to post on this later...

Glad she's feeling better!! That's the saddest pic of her at the hospital :( I swear by the "pain train" when my kids are sick/have fevers. It's the only thing that seem to drop the fever and keep them relatively comfortable. Can't wait to hear about her school.
u and your germ phobias must have hated the preschool! ha ha. so glad H is on the mend. she's sort of the cutest sicky ever.
Joc I'm not going to lie, it was in the back of my mind the entire time. Sure enough she catches something. So gross!
So happy she is feeling better.
